This course is eligible for up to 50% funding through the Welsh Government’s Flexible Skills Programme, making it an affordable way to build essential Lean skills and gain recognised accreditation.

About the Course

This hands-on, EAL-accredited workshop introduces participants to the 5S methodology for workplace organisation: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, and Sustain. Over three days, learners will assess a real work area, carry out a Red Tag exercise, conduct a 5S audit, implement improvements, and set new standards for workplace condition.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have directly applied Lean tools in a real setting and developed a clear, actionable plan to maintain improvements over time.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Apply the 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) to organise a workplace area

  • Conduct a Red Tag exercise to identify and remove unnecessary items

  • Perform a 5S audit and interpret audit results to measure workplace condition
