Design effective visual tools to support communication, performance, and daily management
This practical, EAL-accredited workshop introduces the core principles of Visual Management (VM) and how they can be used to improve workplace clarity, accountability, and team awareness. Over two days, participants will learn how to assess existing visual systems, select appropriate data displays, and design visual boards tailored to their operational environment.
This course is eligible for up to 50% funding through the Welsh Government’s Flexible Skills Programme, making it an affordable way to build essential Lean skills and gain recognised accreditation.
About the Course
This two-day, hands-on workshop focuses on the real-world application of Visual Management in a live or simulated workplace. Participants will carry out a visual audit, explore different types of data displays, and design and implement a functional VM board that supports team coordination and operational awareness.
The course includes guided activities to apply VM principles to an actual work area, with practical tips on layout, visibility, and standardisation.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Understand the role and function of Visual Management in the workplace
Assess the effectiveness of existing visual tools using audit criteria
Choose appropriate visual displays for different types of operational information
Design a Visual Management board that supports performance tracking and communication
